Bacco’s Bakeries, in Wickham, NSW, has been a beloved foodie spot for years. It offers a wide range of handmade breads, pastries, and specialty cakes, crafted with traditional recipes and high-quality ingredients.
Every product reflects authentic Italian baking, from crusty loaves to delicate pastries (yum!), making Bacco’s a go-to destination for locals and visitors.
Brief
The business had just been taken over by new local owners, Todd and Karlene Russell, who wanted to refresh the brand and website.
The project involved:
Brand copy development – Creating a tagline, brand story, and key messaging statements to reflect the bakery’s fresh vision and Italian heritage.
SEO website copy for nine pages – Designed to be image-led, highlighting products, atmosphere, and the bakery’s premium yet approachable character.
Tone alignment – Ensuring the messaging felt evocative, inviting, and authentic, balancing tradition with a modern, friendly voice.
The overall goal was to bring the new Bacco’s brand to life online, creating a cohesive experience where visuals and words work together to tell the story of a premium, welcoming Italian bakery that connects with every customer.
Approach
After initial discussions and reviewing the completed discovery questionnaires from the client, I began market and product research to understand the bakery’s audience, competitors, and unique offerings. I also conducted SEO keyword research to identify target phrases for each website page.
My approach to the copy was to give it heart and draw customers in, using descriptive storytelling to highlight foodie moments—the smell of fresh bread, the indulgence of a flaky pastry. To add personality and flair, I weaved in Italian words and phrases, reflecting Bacco’s heritage while keeping the tone warm, inviting, and premium.
The result is copy that connects emotionally with customers, showcases the bakery’s offerings, and aligns perfectly with the brand’s refreshed voice and image-led website design.
