We Idea Communications

Background

We Idea Communications is a China-based marketing agency working with major global brands. They regularly produce internal communications for multinational clients and needed a native English copyeditor who could polish content to a high professional standard.

Brief

The project involved:

  • Providing ongoing copyediting and proofreading support for BMW Group’s monthly internal newsletter.
  • Interpreting content originally written in Chinese English to ensure meaning was clear and accurate.
  • Restructuring and refining content so that it reads as polished, professional, native English.
  • Ensuring each piece aligns with the client’s brand tone and communicates effectively to a global audience.

Approach

My approach was to first understand the intent behind each newsletter update—not just what’s written, but what the business is trying to communicate. Where needed, I clarified meaning through questions or additional research to make sure nothing got lost in translation.

From there, each article was carefully reworked for flow, clarity and tone. I tightened sentences, improved structure and refined language into clear, confident native English that’s easy to read and aligned with a global corporate brand like BMW.

The result was internal comms that were polished, professional and human, helping important updates land clearly with teams across regions.
