Great job, thanks Kerrie!
Background
Daresay is a Sydney-based content agency that specialises in creating high-quality, engaging content for a variety of well-known Australian and international brands. They regularly employ freelance writers to support their team in producing blogs, articles, and other content marketing materials.
Brief
I received regular briefs to write blogs and other content for two household name brands:
The content had to follow their strict editorial guidelines and be tailored to each client’s audience and tone of voice.
Approach
Daresay provided detailed briefs and style guides for each client, outlining their tone of voice, audience expectations and editorial requirements.
- QuickBooks – The tone was professional, clear and supportive — aimed at small business owners who needed practical, actionable advice without jargon.
- Snap Print & Design – The voice was friendly, approachable and energetic, reflecting their creative brand while still being informative for business clients.
Each piece of content involved:
Reviewing the TOV guidelines carefully and made notes on key words, phrasing, and sentence structure that reflected the brand’s personality
Conducting research to ensure the content was factually accurate and aligned with industry standards
Adapting my writing style to match the client’s voice, whether that meant keeping sentences concise and practical for QuickBooks or using a lively, engaging style with a hint of playfulness for Snap Print & Design
