Background
Dawson’s Oysters is a long-standing seafood business based in Warner’s Bay, in operation since 1980. Under new ownership, the brand continues to specialise in eco-sourced oysters and other seafood, offering quality products while maintaining a reputation for freshness, expertise, and local knowledge.
Brief
The project involved:
- Creating SEO website copy for a brand-new site, including Home, About, Products, Blogs, and Contact pages
- Refreshing the brand voice to be fun, conversational, and approachable
- Highlighting the company’s heritage and seafood expertise
Approach
The first step was diving into Dawson’s history to capture its story and credibility, ensuring the brand’s long-standing expertise came through.
Copy was crafted to highlight the freshness and eco-sourced nature of their products, appealing to seafood lovers who value quality and sustainability.
To make the site engaging, I layered in lighthearted touches, seafood-based wordplay, and fun facts about oysters and the business itself.
SEO was embedded naturally, ensuring each page was optimised without losing the warm, approachable tone.
The result is a website that’s informative, credible, and deliciously inviting—encouraging readers to explore the products and connect with the brand.
Ongoing work
2024 – Dawson’s engaged me again to create fun, engaging website copy and taglines for their new event arm, ‘Shuck Yeah‘.
2025 – I was asked to create a long-form blog article on Brett Dawson, their master oyster shucker, celebrating 50 years, which included an interview with Brett to learn all about his story.
