Ethical Disability Advocacy Employment Network
Industry
Disability supportBackground
EDEAN (the Ethical Disability Advocacy Employment Network) is a not-for-profit organisation advocating for people with disabilities and those working in the industry. It’s run by the same team behind disability support company HEDSS and is dedicated to creating opportunities, support, and advocacy across the sector.
Brief
The NFP was just being set up, so no existing material or communications existed.
The project involved:
- Developing the brand and tone of voice from scratch
- Writing SEO copy for a 7-page website
- Producing a keyword report to guide content strategy
- Creating a tagline that reflects the organisation’s mission and values
- Crafting copy to engage potential sponsors and encourage donations
Approach
Brand
As part of the branding work, I crafted a brand tone of voice that was professional, passionate, knowledgeable, positive, authentic, supportive, persuasive and inclusive. I also came up with five unique brand values: Push for quality, Break barriers, Bring people together, Give back and Drive change.
Tagline
The tagline ‘Limits don’t stop us’ I created reflects EDEAN’s passion and commitment to helping people with disabilities and workers in the industry. It also plays into the idea that people with disabilities shouldn’t be limited in what they can do.
Website
The website copy was created with strong UX in mind. It was designed to be inspiring and showcase the services and support they offer. As a not-for-profit, they also need to entice sponsorships and donations, so I crafted emotive copy to encourage people to support them, e.g., ‘Become an EDEAN angel’.
