I’ve worked with Kerrie on a couple of projects with Economist Impact, and working with her has been a breeze. Most importantly, she brings deep research expertise and possesses that rare quality of being able to put the numbers that matter into engaging copy and visuals that stay with the reader!

Background
Unless you’ve been living under a rock (with no wifi), you’ve heard of Netflix. The global streaming giant keeps over half a billion people entertained across 190+ countries and 50 languages with shows, films, and even games. A creative agency working with Netflix (The Economist Group-El Studios) got in touch to see if I could help with an upcoming campaign.
Brief
The campaign
The goal was to spark real conversations with policy decision-makers—from tourism and culture to finance and the economy—across the Asia-Pacific.
Netflix wanted to highlight how both the creative economy and their own content production are powerful drivers of economic and cultural development in the region. It was all about positioning TV and film as the backbone of the creative industries and a serious player in economic growth.
The content
I was brought on to research and write 3 x static infographics (550–600 words each). Each one broke down the data into 4–6 snackable modules, packed with 3–4 key stats and illustrated visuals—making complex information engaging and easy to digest.
Approach
First up, like any infographic, the project involved research. Lots of it. I immersed myself in regional reports, Netflix case studies, and creative economy data to understand the real impact of screen production across Asia-Pacific.
Then came the strategy. I came up with synopsis ideas and worked to shape each infographic around a clear story arc. One that would speak directly to ministers, policymakers, and advisors (without sounding like a policy paper).
From there, I turned the complex data into crisp, compelling copy, breaking it down into digestible sections and making design suggestions throughout. When editing, I needed to ensure it followed El Studio editorial guidelines.
