Background
The University of Newcastle is a world-class university with a strong focus on student experience, excellence in teaching, and research.
Brief
I was contacted by the Communications Coordinator (Marketing and Communications – Global Engagements and Partnerships Division), Carmen Swadling. They had started a project rewriting the online profiles of the university’s academic researchers and wanted help pulling them together. The goal was to make them more engaging and SEO-friendly through storytelling. The word count was approx. 700-1,000.
Approach
The university has its own content style and tone of voice, so I needed to craft each profile story to this. However, I was given free rein to approach the format and storytelling in the way I thought best. To create each profile, researchers are given a questionnaire and include their contact details for follow-up questions. The project is still ongoing.
