What are blog posts?

A blog post is an informative or engaging piece of writing that’s published on the blog section of a website. They’re typically written in a more conversational first-person style, cover a specific topic or question and average 500-1,000 words.

What are feature articles?

An article is a piece of content that features in a publication, magazine or newspaper. These are more formal and professional pieces of text, which are lengthy, detailed and fact-based. They often require interviews and quotes.

a. Discovery

Once you’ve filled in a Project Brief and I understand more about your business and goals my discovery stage begins. Good blog, article and ebook writing always starts with research. As your blog copywriter, as well as using insights or ideas you share, I’ll spend time locating reputable sources on each topic and carry out interviews if needed.

b. Writing

This stage involves bringing all of my research and expertise together and combining it with some creative storytelling. I develop a strong angle, map out a clear skeleton structure and then put my writing skills to work. A standard blog post can take 2-3 hours to craft, a longer article around 4-5 hours and an ebook a few days.

c. Revisions

Once your first draft is ready, I’ll send it to you for review. If I’m writing an SEO blog, I send it through in a copy deck. This includes all SEO elements and is easy for your web designer or developer to understand. Now is your chance to review the copy to check for accuracy and suggest any changes. Hopefully you love it!
